UDIA NSW held a successful State Conference today with an outstanding lineup of speakers, commencing with the opening keynote from NSW Treasurer the Hon. Daniel Mookhey MP.
The day’s comprehensive program featured industry leaders and expert panelists focused on Delivering the Housing Accord each discussing and debating various aspects of the housing crisis and how our industry can work together with Government to remove the blockages preventing new houses from being delivered.
The closing session featured an In Conversation with Hon. Paul Scully, Minister for Planning & Public Spaces on – NSW Planning Reforms.
Commenting on the State conference, Stuart Ayres, UDIA NSW CEO said “UDIA and our Members are keen to continue working closely with Government and it was therefore a testament to the commitment of our industry, with UDIA Members, the NSW Treasurer and the Minister for Planning & Public Spaces, all participating in such a focused and productive forum, sharing ideas and solutions to enable homes to be built for the people of NSW.”
Today UDIA NSW also held its Annual General Meeting at which a new President was announced.
Peter Grogan, Head of Strategy & External Relations at Walker Corporation, has been elected as President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia NSW (UDIA NSW) – at the UDIA NSW Annual General Meeting (AGM) following the completed term of outgoing President Jacqueline Vozzo (2022-2024) who will remain on the Board in the role of Immediate Past President.
Peter is an accomplished business strategist with more than 25 years’ experience in the commercial law, corporate finance, and property industries. As Head of Strategy and External Relations at Walker Corporation, Peter works across a $36 billion global pipeline, which includes major greenfield projects at Riverlea in South Australia and Appin in New South Wales, liaising with key stakeholders to support all business units.
At the announcement, Peter commented ““The next year will be crucial for the industry and the community. At UDIA we need to be a part of developing much better ways to address the housing crisis in both short and long term horizons. The voice of UDIA and our Members has contributed to our reputation as a leading industry body and I know that the Board and I will continue to work tirelessly to provide strong, evidence-based advocacy as we look toward a productive 2024/25 year.”
At the AGM a number of new Board Members were also elected following a thorough nomination process.
