NSW Government has announced that local councils focussed on fast-tracking development assessments for housing projects will be eligible for up to $5.5 million each in funding for parklands, town squares and main streets. 

DPIE is hoping this will help prioritise local planning projects that will boost jobs and investment in their communities with the $250 million package. 

Funding will be available to 68 councils across NSW currently engaged with the ePlanning Program, which DPIE has indicated represents 82% of total development applications considered by all 128 councils in NSW.
