At its heart, Arkadia is about ecological and social sustainability. The project started as a series of 3 considerations; Community, Environment and Architecture. Arkadia deliberately sought to challenge the nature of multi residential development in Australia. From the half a million recycled bricks that make its’ skin, the timber lined archways that create its through site links, to the veggie gardens, chooks and extensive landscaping on its rooftop, Arkadia is truly unique. The entire building facade is designed to acknowledge the history of the site, but also to become a beacon to a low carbon future.
