It highlights synergies which can be established when co-locating head office functions and warehouses. The facility also reveals how exceptional staff amenity can be achieved within an industrial precinct by embracing core stakeholder’s values.

Judges Comments

TJX Australia at Sydney Business Park exemplifies excellence in Industrial Development, scoring near-perfect scores on all judging criteria. The development sets the benchmark for the next generation of warehouse/distribution facilities. The built form, scale and massing are large, but that is not how the development reads in its setting: generously landscaped garden beds on both street frontages and in the car park, and a building with streetscape appeal, establish a high standard of character and design.

With an eye on what it would be like to be an employee at the facility, the judges agreed that worker health, comfort and satisfaction had been prioritised. The indoor and outdoor eating area has design flair. The sustainability credentials are impressive, with excellent active and passive design inclusions. TJX Australia at Sydney Business Park has delivered a world-class facility to North-West Sydney.
