Executive Manager – Corporate Communications, Deicorp

Personal Biography
Over the past 30 years, I have gained extensive experience in the public policy, planning, community engagement, construction and development sectors. As a senior executive in one of Australia’s largest builders and developers, I have developed strong insights and a deep interest in the development industry and its operations.

I am active in industry advocacy and policy through participation in committees, forums and events, and work closely with other industry leaders to advance the interests of the sector and the broader community.

Having served as an elected Councillor, Mayor, Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister, I have developed a deep understanding of the drivers of decision making within government. With extensive experience gained from serving on high-profile public (Sydney Local Health District) and community organisation Boards, I possess strong governance and strategic planning skills.

This background provides the relevant experience to effectively serve as a Director of UDIA NSW.

Support Statement
The development industry provides the key to unlocking equity, opportunity and advancement for the people of NSW. A truly viable development sector provides employment and business opportunities for tens of thousands of people, and contributes billions of dollars to the NSW economy and Budget.

Serving as a Board Member for a respected and capable industry association like the UDIA would enable me to contribute to their strong advocacy for the development industry. This in turn would support a strengthening of the economy and increase employment and business opportunities. Most importantly, it would help to deliver more homes for the people of NSW, build social equality, improve cohesion and increase productivity across the State.

In this role, my objectives would be to prosecute within government and the bureaucracy the vital importance of a viable and productive development sector, and the benefit to all citizens of creating more homes in desirable locations.
