DPIE Industry Briefing

The minutes from this week’s industry peaks briefing with DPIE will be available shortly.  Updates include:

• An announcement on reforms to Planning Panels is expected on 3 July.  The reforms are intended to accelerate decisions and provide greater transparency.
• 41 local councils have now expressed interest in the Council Planning Acceleration Program.  DPIE highlighted the positive work by Parramatta, Camden and Shoalhaven City Councils in particular.
• From 1 July, 48 councils from the Hunter to the Illawarra are required to accept DAs, CDCs and post consent certificates via the NSW Planning Portal.
