Urban Renewal and Precincts Delivery
Supporting Precinct Planning across Greater Sydney
Precinct planning and urban renewal is an opportunity to deliver great places with housing, social and community infrastructure, transport services and public open space. UDIA has undertaken extensive research into all residential focused precincts across Greater Sydney to understand the cause of delays and the point in the process where they occur. This paper highlights the key areas where the Department of Planning and Environment need to focus improvements, including:
- Setting Clear Objectives
- Agency Coordination
- Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement
- Adopting Project Management Techniques

Home Purchaser Sentiment Survey
The UDIA Urbis Home Purchaser Sentiment Survey was launched in August 2019. UDIA and Urbis have partnered in this survey to track sentiment towards the Sydney property market. The initial survey provides a baseline to measure any changes in future survey cycles. The purpose of the survey is a pulse check into how positive or negative Sydney residents feel about purchasing and price growth in the residential property market. Results provide UDIA members and more broadly the property industry with insight into what buyers are looking for and where they are looking to purchase like no other survey.

Greenfield Urban Development Cost Review
SMEC undertook a detailed analysis of the development costs of key development regions for UDIA in August 2018.
