Event details

One of the most significant impacts on a proposed development can be biodiversity requirements. Once again, biodiversity conservation in the regions is changing, with a two-pronged approach. The new Biodiversity Conservation Act is scheduled to go into effect later this year, while at the same time, the Department of Planning and Environment is embarking on a new process for strategic biodiversity certification for the Hunter and Central Coast.

How does it all fit together, and how will these changes affect local development?

DPE has established a new Biodiversity & Sustainability team to oversee this issue. Join us to hear from Steve Hartley, the Executive Director of the team, followed by a panel discussion on this next chapter in biodiversity conservation for development.
