Wivenhoe Village by Mbark
Wivenhoe Village was created when Mbark PL dedicated one of 4 available residential precincts for the purpose of building a premium Retirement Village offering independent living. This was driven by the project vision and the financial need to create a long term business income stream for one of the owners (a not for profit group) to support their NFP mission and their aging Congregation. This showed incredible vision, commitment and unwaivering belief that a strong financial outcome would be delivered and sales reflect this with only few remaining. Creating long term revenue streams in support of social, historical and community enterprise is possibly the single greatest achievement of Wivenhoe Village.
Development on the overall site was restricted to areas where bush clearing had historically occurred resulting in 4 distinct residential precincts set amongst 120 hectares of Cumberland Plain Woodlands in need of major remediation & environmental consideration.
Driving vision for Wivenhoe is “Retirement Without Compromise”. We identified an opportunity to provide housing options to those who had passionately lived on acreage and larger lots, highly valuing privacy and space. The Village was designed to provide intimate connections with bushland and a semi-rural feel with an emphasis on privacy. Acres without the ache.
Completed in July 2017, 149 single-storey and freestanding homes, are each oriented to capture northern sun and bushland or park views. A combination of 2 & 3 bedroom plus study designs and choice of oversized single/double garages range from $620,000 to $845,000. Homes feature 2 full size bathrooms, generous courtyards, gardens plus Eco-friendly appliances, high end inclusions and sustainable design principles with all homes access friendly.
